Self Care Mindfulness Exercise for January

Allowing that which does not serve you, go

Find a flowing body of water or river.
Stand near the water and face your body downstream.
Imagine all thoughts, ideas and stress that are not making you happy.
Release a deep breathe out and give away the negativity.
Turn to face the flowing water and imagine all the good in your life, all the beautiful things you have to be grateful for and how you want to live your best life.
Take a deep breathe in and absorb the positivity.

What are the things that you do for yourself to feel happy?

Is it making yourself or your loved ones a special meal? Stretching before the busyness of the day takes over? Listening to your favorite record while grocery shopping? Any thing that you can do to show yourself some love, happiness or a moment of calm in this chaotic world is called self-care or self-love. Right now there is an opportunity to make a conscious effort in choosing happiness above everything else.

Self-care doesn’t have to be expensive or something that you purchase. It just has to be something you do physically, mentally, spiritually or emotionally that makes you feel good.
