Self-care for the mind and body.

Over the next few months I’ve been brainstorming what to share on my blog through my new community at Sacred Sacral. In the future there will be a focuses on anything from fascia, tensegrity, dynamic breathe or different muscle group but before we get into the nitty-gritty we have to start at the beginning. I think that there’s no better place to begin than then with the importance of taking care of our physical and mental bodies for a healthier new year ahead.  The foundation of each new adventure should always be taking care of yourself first.

One way to access the magic and power of the body is through the breathe. When the mental mind stops focusing the physical body has a chance to repair and rest. I believe that everyone has the ability to heal themselves. We just need the right tools and inspirations because our bodies are constantly trying to find neutral (also known as homeostasis). Although we can be inspired from many sources like gurus, manual therapists or coaches the goal should be to find a calm within our own. Massage can be relaxing, therapeutic or healing but the check in that happens, the experience created within ourselves or the moments of slowing down, are when the important work within every system of the human body gets done.
